Music Improv Level 1 - Starts 4/27 - Thursdays 7:30-9:30p
In this class we will explore the fundamentals of how to improvise songs that sound as if they had been written. We will investigate techniques and structures for successful (and fun!) solos, duets and group numbers of various styles. We will explore rhyme, melody, and movement to emphasize character and theme. You will leave this class with a strong understanding of WHEN to sing, HOW to sing it and WHAT to sing about. By the end of the course, students will be improvising well-constructed songs instantaneously! This class culminates in a show for the guests of the students. 8 Week Class
Pre-requisite: Previous improv theatre experience, classroom or performance.
—Suitable for beginner to experienced music improvisers. We will meet you where you are!
—Traditional singing or musical theatre experience is NOT required, just a willingness to play and learn.
